Uranus Fudge Factory #3 Honored By Wayne County Area Chamber of Commerce

Hagerstown, IN- Uranus Fudge Factory & General Store #3 was honored by Wayne County Area Chamber of Commerce on August 12, 2025, at Hartley Hills Country Club, by receiving the Chamber’s Community Impact Award in recognition for Uranus Fudge Factory’s outstanding contribution to enhancing the Wayne County community through vision, dedication, and meaningful impact.

The evening’s theme was Hammer Time. The events recognized nine Wayne County businesses that nailed it with exterior improvements and new construction projects. The nominated projects enhance the attractiveness of Wayne County and improve the quality of life for Wayne County residents.

Uranus Fudge Factory was selected as the winning project for its about-face renovation of a disused building into a fun-filled tourism magnet.  

Lynnette Davis, Director of Events for Wayne County Area Chamber of Commerce, remarked, “Uranus Fudge Factory has transformed a once-empty building into a whimsical destination that draws visitors from near and far. Their investment is boosting our economy, attracting tourism, and adding a unique spark that enhances the quality of life in Wayne County.”

The Mayor of Uranus, Louie Keen, stated, “We are honored and humbled to receive this award, especially considering the competition we were up against,” before adding, “I can't wait for you all to see what's next in Uranus!”

About Uranus Fudge Factory and General Store: Uranus, Missouri is the second most visited Route 66 attraction in Missouri. Mayor Louie opened his #2 location off I-69 in Madison County, Indiana April 2022. On December 20, 2024 he proclaimed Uranus wide open at his #3 location at the junction of I-70 and U.S Route 40 in Wayne County, Indiana.
