Folks, you already know that things coming out of Uranus are always bigger, bolder, and more entertaining than anyone expects. But this might be the wildest thing to come out of Uranus yet.

Mayor Louie Keen — the man, the legend, the guy who built a fudge empire on Route 66 — is officially a part-owner of the Richmond Flying Mummies, the brand-new summer collegiate baseball team joining the Northwoods League for their inaugural 2026 season at historic Don McBride Stadium in Richmond, Indiana.

And he's not doing it alone. Louie's joining an ownership group that includes Jon Heder (yes, that Napoleon Dynamite), Jon's wife Kristen, Efren Ramirez (Pedro himself), and entertainment manager Karla Merklein. They're teaming up with existing owner Jon Gries — Uncle Rico — which means if you come to a game this summer, you might just see more Napoleon Dynamite cast members in one place than a 2004 movie premiere.

For those keeping score, that's the Mayor of Uranus, Napoleon Dynamite, Pedro, and Uncle Rico all in the same ownership group. We couldn't make this up if we tried. And honestly, why would we? This is exactly the kind of ridiculous, beautiful thing Uranus was built for.

If you've ever visited the Uranus Fudge Factory in Richmond, you already know that Louie doesn't do anything small. The man brought 2,000 feet of neon tubing to the Missouri Ozarks, launched a feature film, and has been packing fudge in Uranus across three locations in Missouri and Indiana. Now he's bringing that same wrapped-in-fun energy to the ballpark.

"When you think about it, Uranus and baseball are a natural fit," Mayor Louie said. "Both involve a lot of people staring at a diamond, eating snacks, and hoping somebody slides into home."

The Richmond Flying Mummies — named after the city's famous Egyptian mummies exhibit and the Wright Brothers' aviation ties to the area — are gearing up for their debut season in the Northwoods League, one of the biggest and most respected summer collegiate leagues in the country. The league has produced over 410 Major League Baseball players, so these aren't your average backyard ball games.

Team President Matt Bomberg said it best: the group's mix of blockbuster film cred, small-town Americana hustle, and entertainment business know-how is exactly what it takes to build something special in Richmond starting May 2026.

So here's the deal: this summer, you can grab some fudge from Uranus, catch a Flying Mummies game under the lights, and maybe — just maybe — get a "Vote for Pedro" moment in the stands. If that's not the most Uranus thing you've ever heard, you haven't been paying attention.
